Bidet installation is a two-part job: the bidet has to be fixed to the floor or a frame, and it needs a cold and hot water supply and a waste connection. We install floor-standing bidets and wall-hung bidets on a concealed frame, together with the mixer tap and trap. Bidet installation costs from €60, and we agree the price before the work starts.

A toilet needs a cold water supply and a 110 mm waste opening. In terms of connections a bidet is closer to a sink: it needs cold and hot water points with valves, a mixer tap on the rim of the bidet or on the wall, and a trap that connects to a smaller diameter waste pipe.
That is why in an old bathroom, where there is only a cold water supply next to the toilet, new points have to be installed before the bidet goes in. This is the biggest factor in the price, and it is usually done together with a renovation: plumbing rough-in.
If the frame is already built in and the wall is tiled, installation is quick: the bidet is hung, and the mixer tap and trap are connected. If the frame still has to be installed, the work is planned together with the tiler, because the position of the frame determines the tile cuts.
In a small toilet room a bidet often does not fit. Then a bidet shower is installed next to the toilet: a mixer tap with a hand shower on the wall or a concealed set. It also needs a cold and hot water supply, but no separate waste connection.
For a bidet shower mixer it is worth choosing a model with a shut-off valve or a thermostat, because the hose stays under pressure between uses. It is convenient to connect it together with a new toilet, see toilet installation.
Checking the points
We check that the cold and hot water points with valves and the waste opening are in the right place and at the right height for the bidet model.
Mixer tap and trap on the bidet
Before the bidet is put in place, the mixer tap with flexible supply hoses, the waste valve and the trap are fitted to it, because they are hard to reach later.
Positioning
A floor-standing bidet is fixed to the floor, a wall-hung one is hung on the frame studs, and it is levelled with a spirit level.
Connection
The supply hoses are connected to the valves and the trap to the waste pipe, and the joint with the floor or wall is sealed.
Testing
The water is turned on, and the hot and cold water, the waste valve and all joints are checked for leaks.
| Job | Price | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Bidet installation | from €60 | floor-standing bidet or wall-hung bidet on a frame already in place, with mixer tap and trap |
| Toilet installation | from €60 | if the toilet is replaced in the same visit |
| Wall-hung toilet installation | from €150 | frame, toilet and flush button as a set |
The price depends on the type of bidet (floor-standing or wall-hung), whether the frame is already built in or still has to be installed, the type of mixer tap and water supplies, removing an old bidet or toilet, and whether new water and waste points have to be installed.
The price does not include the bidet, mixer tap, trap and frame, installing new points and wall chasing, or tiling around the frame. If you are rebuilding the whole bathroom, see bathroom plumbing from €200. All jobs are on the plumbing services page.
